Phase 3 under construction

Delivered over three phases, this major regeneration project has seen a swathe of former industrial land in Preston revitalised with new affordable homes.

Together the three phases of development provide 153 homes through a mix of houses and apartments.

Mulbury rose to a plethora of technical challenges presented by the site, including demolishing three former mill structures, a legacy of Lancashire’s once thriving cotton industry.

This involved the safe removal of huge amounts of asbestos, and addressing other land decontamination and remediation issues. A number of other complex planning obstacles were also overcome, including an 11th hour attempt to have one of the long-defunct mills listed.
