Hazel Grove, Greater Manchester
Creating 87 new family homes, this scheme is breathing new life into a formerly derelict site in the Hazel Grove suburb of Stockport. Located off Melford Road, close to the A6 Buxton Road, the site was formerly home to a BT warehouse which had stood vacant for some time.
Comprising 59 houses and 28 apartments, the high-quality homes are being built on behalf of Viaduct Housing Partnership – the development partnership between Stockport Homes and Stockport Council – with funding provided by Homes England.
76 of the properties will be classed as affordable homes, with 63 for shared ownership and 13 homes for social rent.
The scheme boasts easy access to Manchester, the motorway networks and the Peak District National Park. A popular location to lay down roots, Hazel grove benefits from being close to the hustle and bustle of Stockport town centre, while Hazel Grove village is home to restaurants, bars and shops.
The masterplan for the site has been designed by Calderpeel Architects, with planning advice provided by Ludlam Associates.
