The stunning Excelsior Works has transformed the site of the former Excelsior book binding works into 108 high-quality apartments next to the Bridgewater Canal.
Designed by Tim Groom Architects, with interiors by YOUTH Studio, the development features one, two and three-bedroom apartments made available for private sale.
Selected apartments at Excelsior Works benefit from balconies and access to a communal roof garden, while a basement car park also provides on-site parking.
The building fills a plot left vacant when the original mill was demolished in 2015. It had once been one of the largest works of its kind in the UK.
The design responds to the distinct Manchester context of Castlefield and brings back an active frontage to the canal towpath with its stunning double-height entrance. It also reinterprets the architectural history of the site and the old-fashioned printing trays in the fenestration to the new building.
