We’re pleased to announce we’ve been granted planning permission for a development of 87 homes in Hazel Grove, near Stockport.

Mulbury will build the 59 homes and 28 apartments on a brownfield site off Melford Road. The homes are being built on behalf of Viaduct Housing Partnership – the development partnership between Stockport Homes and Stockport Council – with funding provided by Homes England.

The masterplan for the site has been designed by Calderpeel Architects with planning advice provided by Ludlam Associates. 76 of the properties will be classed as affordable homes with 63 for shared ownership and 13 homes for social rent.

David Wroe, operations director for Mulbury, said: “This development will completely regenerate this vacant site to provide high-quality affordable properties.

“These homes are in a great location, offering easy access to Manchester, the motorway networks and the Peak District National Park. Once again, we’re proud to be working in partnership to increase the supply of new homes across the North West.”

Chair of the Viaduct Housing Partnership board, Ken Lee, added: “We are delighted to be working with Mulbury to build an additional 87 high quality and affordable new homes within the local community and to be delivering affordable housing in Stockport, which is in great demand.”

Work on the new homes is scheduled to begin in July 2019 and the development is expected to take around two years to complete.

The site, close to the A6 Buxton Road, was formerly home to a BT warehouse but has been vacant for some time.

This new development will add to the strong pipeline of new sites starts expected for Mulbury in the coming months throughout the North West.
