Specialist residential developer Mulbury, in partnership with Plus Dane Housing, has secured planning permission to build a multi-million-pound development of 46 new affordable homes in Warrington.
The scheme will redevelop a disused parcel of land on Hawthorne Street into high-quality affordable homes for local young families and first-time buyers taking their first step on the property ladder.
The derelict 2.5-acre brownfield site will be transformed into a mix of two and three-bedroom semi-detached and terraced houses.
Lymm-based Mulbury is delivering the scheme on behalf of Plus Dane Housing, which will make the properties available for shared ownership and rent to buy through their sales and lettings brand Homeshub.
Greg Mulligan, a director at Mulbury, said: “Demand is high for quality affordable family homes in Warrington, so this scheme will help plug that gap while contributing to the positive regeneration going on in the area.”
Alan Green, director of development at Plus Dane Housing, said: “We believe in providing a mix of affordable homes that meet the specific local needs and aspirations of our current and future tenants and customers.
“The Hawthorne Street scheme is part of Plus Dane’s ambitious development plans for growth over the next three years, and we are delighted to be able to work with Mulbury to deliver this new build development where the homes will be offered to families and first time buyers in Warrington.”
The scheme has been designed by Eden Building Design using materials which are sympathetic to the character of the local area, while offering the development a unique character.
The development is located adjacent to another scheme of 78 affordable homes on Folly Lane that Mulbury developed for Your Housing Group in 2015.
