Demolition starts at derelict Levenshulme engineering works

Demolition work has begun on a disused engineering works in Levenshulme which will be transformed into Manchester’s first ‘rent to buy’ housing scheme.

Housing and community services provider, One Manchester, announced earlier this year that the former Atlas Engineering Works on Chapel Street would be developed into 14 shared ownership and 50 rent to buy homes.

Mulbury has now begun work at the derelict site to make way for a mixed development of apartments and houses suitable for singles, couples and families alike.

Mulbury to start on £42m of North West projects

Mulbury is to start work on six new housing schemes in the North West worth around £42million.

The projects will see new homes built in Caton, Weaste, and Lymm under its Mulbury Living brand which specialises in homes for open market sale.

Meanwhile, Mulbury’s affordable housing arm is set to start on 66 new homes in Walton, 64 homes in Levenshulme and 46 in Gorton.
