Mulbury Living to build new homes in Lymm

The Cheshire village of Lymm is to get 10 new family homes in a new development by Mulbury Living, the residential housing division of Mulbury.

The homes will be built on the derelict site of the former Farmer Arms public house which closed almost six years ago.

Mulbury has acquired the site in Rush Green Road and secured planning permission for eight detached four-bedroom family homes and two semi-detached two-bedroom properties arranged around a cul-de-sac. The two-bedroom homes will be offered at a discounted price to people with local connections.

Mulbury unveils second Manchester PRS scheme

Mulbury has submitted plans for a second build to rent scheme in Manchester city centre.

The £35m development of 145 apartments would be built on a 0.24 hectare site at the junction of Blossom Street and Great Ancoats Street.

The scheme proposes two separate eight-storey buildings that would provide a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, ground floor reception and concierge areas, circa 570 square metres of commercial space, and car parking and cycle spaces.

Mulbury and M&G Real Estate join forces for Manchester PRS scheme

M&G Real Estate, one of the UK’s largest property investors, is to finance the £27.6 million development of 135 new private rental homes at 97-105 Port Street in the Northern Quarter of Manchester – marking its first entry into private rented sector in the north of England.

The deal was made on behalf of M&G Real Estate’s UK residential property strategy, launched in mid-2013 for UK and international investors, led by Head of Residential Investment, Alex Greaves.

Developed by Mulbury and designed by Tim Groom Architects, the scheme is anticipated to be ready for occupation by summer 2018. The homes are mainly one and two bedroom apartments.

Comment: Time to end housing sector austerity

The last two years have been some of the most uncertain times I’ve known in the housing industry.

What seemed like a never ending election campaign in the latter part of 2014 and early 2015 was followed not by the usual post-election clarity, but by another period of political and economic ambiguity thanks to the EU referendum.

Public invited to view 200-year-old artefacts unearthed in Manchester

Port Street excavation artefacts

Glass bottles, crockery, ink pots, coins, and keys unearthed on a Manchester building site will be on the display in the city this Saturday (April 30) as part of a specially arranged open day.

The items were recovered among remains to the rear of the former Astley Arms pub and several nearby houses during an archaeological survey carried out before construction work starts on a £30m development of apartments in the city’s Northern Quarter.

As a relatively new business, Mulbury has enjoyed many ‘firsts’ in the last five years.

This includes our first affordable housing development, first care scheme, first ‘city-living’ project, first mixed-use development, first awards and, more recently, our first private rented sector (PRS) scheme.
