Why localism for developers should be evolution not revolution

Following the recent introduction of the Localism Act, the onus is now very much with developers and their partners to ensure communities are consulted fully about building projects in their area.

The Act gives local people the right to decide where new homes and businesses should go and what they look like. But while localism is now law, it doesn’t yet feel like that much has changed.

Planning submitted for new homes in Blackburn

A £1.5m development of 16 new affordable homes is set to replace a former flats site in Blackburn, if the scheme gets the go-ahead from planners.

Specialist affordable homes developer, Mulbury Homes, has submitted a planning application to build the homes in North Road, Blackburn, on behalf of housing association Great Places Housing Group.
